Description

It's like magic, but you don't need to be a magician to get it to work. The PlasmaCar is a mechanical marvel that makes use of that most inexhaustible of energy sources, kid-power, by harnessing the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction. It's so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface. The Plasma Car is made from state-of-the-art, high-quality ABS plastics, rugged and durable. Kids will like its looks because it´s vivid, sleek and aerodynamic, just like a racecar. No batteries, no power-cells, no liquid fuel are required. It´s so easy to operate; all it needs is a driver and a smooth, flat surface. For the kids, the Plasma Car is pure energy and pure fun. For the folks, it´s safe, inexpensive, and quiet. The PlasmaCar is adult-friendly, too. For starters, it doesn't require an expensive power source that needs constant replacement. No batteries, no power-cells, no liquid fuel-just the occasional cookie or two. It's quiet too-the only sound you'll hear is the sound of its wheels. It provides kids with plenty of exercise, more so than most toys. And the PlasmaCar is engineered to be absolutely safe when used appropriately. It's been extensively tested, and meets or exceeds all significant international safety standards, including the following American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F936:96a. European Toy Safety Standard # EN71 Part 1.

5Fun Without Batteries!  Jul 31, 2008
Fun for ALL ages! My daughter got this for her 5th birthday and it is a HUGE hit. I also have a seven year old son who doesn't even care that he's riding on a pink car.

I know it has gotten a couple bum reviews, but let me tell you about our experience with it. This car basically runs on kinetic energy. You have to wiggle the steering wheel back and forth and the motion gets it going. We've had it on a variety of hard surfaces including pavement (most difficult place to get it to go), pergo, tile, and cement and it's been fun. My kids have no problems zooming around from surface to surface except for asphalt. Like I said, asphalt is difficult to ride it on, but not impossible. It's VERY important to get the screw for the steering wheel in correctly and tightly for optimum car performance.

I will also admit to riding on the thing and really having a great time. It's part ride on kiddie car and part Disneyland, in my opinion. Once you get it going, zooming around while going back and forth reminds me of being on some of the track rides at the theme park (obviously in a scaled down version). That fun wooshy feeling is there (albeit, a slower woosh than theme park rides, unless you are going down a hill, which is not recommended by the manufacturer, probably due to our overtly litigious society). It's also a really good work out for your arms. I think I am starting to loose some of that jiggle that sets in after thirty. Ha ha!

If you are looking for something that is going to do all the work for you, this probably isn't the toy for you. But if you have a reasonable expanse of hard flooring, driveway, and/or sidewalks and you want your kids to actually have to do something other than press a button to go, I recommend PlasmaCar. Now I just have to order one in a "boy" color so the kids will stop fighting over it. Okay, and I MIGHT get one for me. :)

5Great fun!  Mar 04, 2008 By V. Cranfill
My 6 year old grandson got one for this past Christmas. His 8 year old brother really liked it and used some of his Christmas money to purchase one. Then his 4 year old sister wanted one for her birthday. So now there are 3 of them and the kids are having great fun with them. They ride them on their tile floor in their home and outside on the sidewalk. There is even a 2 1/2 year old who has no problem making them go. I don't know if the car has been improved since the August 2007 review, but my grandkids have had no problems getting the cars to go fast. It amazes me how they can turn them on a dime and totally miss the walls in the house. Sometimes the boys will give the girls rides and even with the extra body on it, the thing really goes.

5FUN  Sep 21, 2008 By MommaB3
I ordered this car for my 2yr old's birthday present. I was hesitant b/c the youngest suggested age is 3yrs, and I didn't want it to sit unused for a year. But happily she is able to use the car just fine. Within a few moments she got into a rhythm and did great. She isn't super fast on it, but that doesn't bother me since she is still little. She was cracking up and having a ball. And I enjoyed it very much myself. We got on it together (and sadly we were VERY near the 220lb weight limit) and it still worked like a charm. No complaints. I was surprised that the car came in a plain brown box. I don't know if that is EVERY plasma car, or if I just got a returned product. Still everything was in the box, and it all appeared to be new. I also ordered a generic brand "coaster car" for my nephew so that they could play on them together. The "coaster car" works just as well. It is made of slightly less strong plastic, and I did have to retighten the center bolt after a few hours of use. But it was definitely a good buy at $22 cheaper than this. I am happy with both purchases and would make both of them again.

5Love it!  Jan 30, 2010 By Jim's Love "Sheila"
We purchased a pink plasma car and a purple one for our granddaughters (2 and 4 years old). On Christmas Eve, my 6'5" son (175 lb. wet) was helping my husband assemble the cars. Before we knew it, my son was riding it around the house! It was great fun to watch him with his knees practically at his ears, but he was able to ride it and loved it. On Christmas morning, my granddaughters were thrilled and immediately were able to tilt the handle back and forth to circle round and round the dining table since it was too cold outside. Now they ride them outside, of course. They love them!

5It's about time!  Jun 29, 2009 By Lisa A. Salazar
My daughter has been asking for a plasma car for a couple of years. We finally decided to break down and get one when we found out that it can hold up to [...]! So now even the adults that come over are amazed by this little car and how fun it is. We'll be using it for years to come.
